Insanitary, Dangerous and Earthquake-Prone Buildings Policy 2006

This policy is to ensure Horowhenua District Council discharges its statutory obligations under the Building Act 2004, and outlines the principles, guidelines, and procedures to be followed in respect of insanitary, dangerous, and earthquake-prone buildings that may be identified.

At a meeting of Council held on 7 September 2011 it was resolved to roll over the 2006 policy until such time as the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Building Failure caused by the Canterbury Earthquakes has been completed and recommendations reported back to Government (due by 11 April 2012).
