Council will progress the following engagements, projects and plans in 2020:

Other projects Council is focused on achieving:

  • Master Plans
  • Gladstone road replacement
  • Stormwater discharge resource consent application – Levin and Foxton Beach
  • Levin stormwater treatment and disposal – both Lake Horowhenua and North East Levin
  • SH1 and SH57 safety improvements
  • Foxton wastewater discharge moving from water to land
  • Tokomaru wastewater disposal to land
  • Mangahao Reserve Management Plan
  • Donnelly Park Development Plan
  • Liquefaction study.

What we need to do

Planning

  • District Plan Changes including:
    • rezone growth areas so that the construction of new housing can begin
    • identify and protect outstanding natural landscapes so they are preserved
    • identify and protect sites and areas of cultural importance so they are preserved
  • Long Term Plan 2021-2041
  • Research Climate Change effect on infrastructure
