Annual Reseal Programme 2022-2023

There will be resurfacing work as part of Council's Annual Reseal Programme. The first round of resurfacing work will commence in October 2022 when the air and ground temperatures are warmer and should be completed by February 2023.

Foxton Futures – Manawatū River Loop

Foxton Futures – the rejuvenation of the Manawatū River Loop is a long-term aspiration of the people of Te Awahou / Foxton.

Announcement : COVID-19 Delay: The toilet facility will be installed by March 2022.

Foxton Wastewater Discharge

Working with iwi and landowners to develop and operate a land-based discharge system to replace the Foxton Loop discharge.

Inflow & Infiltration Reduction Programme

Council and the Horowhenua Alliance regularly conduct inspections of wastewater and stormwater pipes and gully traps on properties in Levin, to ensure there is no connection between stormwater pipework and the local sewer. These inspections will take place between early November and early-mid December 2021.

Levin Stormwater Discharge Consent

A resource consent application for Council’s stormwater network.

Maintenance of Foxton Beach Wharf

Maintenance work to fix the storm-damaged Foxton Beach Wharf is now complete. Up to 800 tonnes of rock now strengthens the wharf and will help prevent future storm damage. We also extended the Manawatū Estuary Shared Pathway by 75 metres to connect it with the wharf during the project.

Manakau School Safety Improvements

Works involve improved car parking and the installation of a raised safety platform around the front entrance of Manakau School, and work on the footpaths outside the Manakau Bowling Club, Manakau Community Hall and Manakau School. This work will be undertaken in three stages, with contractors beginning on Honi Taipua Street on Monday 6 March 2023.

PGF Funded Queen Street West Improvements

These PGF-funded roading infrastructure improvements on Queen Street West, including water main reticulation renewal and road safety improvement works, were completed in 2020.

Road Works - Ashlea Road, Tokomaru

Road works will be carried out in Ashlea Road, Tokomaru, from late January to early March. The works involve improving the stormwater in the area, widening the road to 6.5 metres, rebuilding the road with new aggregate and applying a new chipseal surface.
