Levin War Memorial Hall

The reimagining of the Levin War Memorial Hall and Village Green are set to become a reality as the Wellington Company Limited, who has bought the land, looks to turn it into a space with a restaurant, shops, housing, and a village square.

Expressions of Interest for the redevelopment of the Levin Bath Street/Salisbury Street carpark closed at 5pm on 29 October 2025.

Levin Domain

Levin Domain is one of the town centre’s key public spaces. As part of the Levin Town Centre Transformation, we’re looking at how this space works now, and how it can be more accessible and better support the community into the future.

Thompson House Gardens

Council is exploring opportunities to ensure the community continues to have access to high-quality public spaces in the heart of Levin. The former Women’s Bowling Green is a key location for this, offering significant potential to rejuvenate an underutilised green space and transform it into a place where people can gather, relax and connect.

Levin Historic Courthouse

The Levin Historic Courthouse has been restored, repurposed and is now home to the Old Courthouse Eatery, a vibrant new hospitality venue.

Future Projects

Strategic Property Acquisition

Work is underway to determine the next stage of investment needed to unlock the opportunities offered by the six centrally located Oxford Street properties Council purchased through Central Government’s Better Off Funding in 2024. This will include a framework for bringing the properties to market by 2028 in an efficient and effective way. We’ll keep you updated as the project progresses.

Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) and Oxford Street Revocation

The new Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will take most through traffic out of Levin, making our main street safer, quieter and more enjoyable for everyone.

Levin Train Station upgrade

Levin and Horowhenua are in an exciting period of significant growth. Already off the back of the roading improvements to the south of the district, more and more people are recognising that Horowhenua is a great place to live, work, play and do business.
