Horowhenua District Council adopted the Horowhenua District Heritage Strategy on 5 September 2012.
This Strategy has been prepared to assist Council and the community to more effectively manage heritage within the Horowhenua District and includes the following vision for heritage:
“The heritage of Horowhenua District is recognised, protected and promoted; it contributes to community identity and pride and offers resident’s a meaningful connection with the District’s past.”
The Strategy identifies a series of goals and actions to achieve this vision.
