Poor weather conditions have caused slips at Mangahao Road, Shannon & Gladstone Road, Levin. Both roads are closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. We'll provide further updates as soon as they become available. We're also monitoring any impact the rain may have on turbidity in our drinking water plants in Levin, Shannon & Tokomaru.
Horowhenua District Council provides six permanent recycling stations at Tokomaru, Opiki, Foxton, Shannon, Waitārere Beach and Levin and two summer recycling stations at Waikawa Beach and Foxton Beach.
Waste Transfer Stations are provided in Foxton and Shannon. Levin Transfer Station is a privately operated facility, and Council does not own or operate this transfer station.
Recycling stations are located at most towns in the district where materials may be deposited for recycling. These are located as follows:
Monday, Thursday and Friday: 12 noon to 4pm
Saturday and Sunday: 11am to 4pm
Closed: Tuesday and Wednesday, Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
