Apply for a Trade Waste Consent - Automotive Industry

If you have registered an automotive business at a trade premises in the Horowhenua District you will need to apply for a trade waste consent.

If trade waste is produced, the consent will set out the conditions your business must follow on pre-treatment.

What's trade waste?

Trade Waste is commercial and industrial liquid waste that is discharged into our wastewater network for treatment.

What you'll need to supply

You'll need:

  • contact details for your organisation
  • your existing trade waste consent number, if applicable
  • an electronic copy of your site plan
  • an electronic copy of your trade waste management plan.

Visit your nearest Council Office

Pop into your nearest Council Office with your completed application form:

  • Levin (Main Office), 126 Oxford Street, Levin, open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (except Wednesdays), and Wednesdays 9.30am to 5pm. Closed on weekends and public holidays.
  • Foxton Service Centre, 92 Main Street, Foxton, open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 3pm Saturday to Sunday (closed public holidays).
  • Shannon Service Centre, Plimmer Terrace, Shannon, open 1pm to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 12 noon on the first Saturday of the month (closed on Sundays and public holidays). 

We'll contact you to organise a site visit and if more information is needed. A consent will be issued once approved.
