Let's Cook - Petches Gingernuts from GrouN Zero.
Try this recipe from one of Levin’s hottest new coffee spots. Petches Gingernuts are the perfect treat to enjoy with a comforting hot drink in the colder months – or any time of year!

Ingredients 

Butter 125 grams
Sugar 160 grams
Egg 1
Golden Syrup 1 tablespoon
Flour 250 grams
Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
Ground Ginger 1 tablespoon
Baking Soda 1/2 teaspoon

 

Method

  1. Preheat oven on fan bake to 150°C
  2. In a large bowl cream together room temperature butter and sugar. 
  3. Add the egg and golden syrup and mix until combined. 
  4. In a separate bowl combine the dry ingredients, then fold through the creamed mixture. 
  5. Roll in teaspoon sized balls and place on a lined tray. 
  6. Do not flatten. They rise then flatten while cooking. 
  7. Bake for 20 minutes until golden.
