From Saturday 1 July 2023 landfill charges increased at the Foxton and Shannon Waste Transfer Stations due to the rise in government waste levy charges and contractor rates.
The per tonne rate for general waste is now $281.00/tonne.

To reduce waste, we encourage our community to use our free recycling stations and kerbside recycling services.
Whiteware recycling is also available at our waste transfer stations.
It is recommended that green waste is separated from general waste so that is more easily and accurately charged.
