Tatum

I really love how many cool clubs and things there are here.

I've gotten to try everything from playing drums and keyboard to performing in plays, to gymnastics, TaeKwonDo, Football - and everything in between.

Having so many options available has meant meeting lots of different people, making friends and finding my place here, discovering more about who I am, and learning what I love.

The opportunities here have given me a sense of connection and I love that.

Lavara

I have always loved music and singing and Horowhenua has been an awesome place to explore that passion.

Since moving here, I've been able to learn several instruments because lessons are really affordable, and through local theatre I've also met heaps of other rangatahi who love music and singing as much as I do.

I have had so many cool opportunities to perform in different ways here - on stage in shows, at the numerous festivals across the Horowhenua like the Spring Fling and MediEval Markets, I've gotten to sing at Children's Day and at Christmas in the Park, perform at the library, and sing at events at my school.

These community events provide a platform for young individuals like me to shine and nurture our passions.

This blend of opportunities and community makes this a truly exceptional place to call home.
