Engineering Standards for Working in Roads

Horowhenua District Council confirms its intention to use New Zealand Standard, Land Development and Subdivision Infrastructure NZS 4404:2010 for the basis of its Engineering Standards to control Development and Subdivision.

To assist with this process, Council has prepared some supplementary documents which have been incorporated "by reference" in the Proposed District Plan. The Proposed District Plan was publicly notified on 14 September 2012. Until the Proposed District Plan becomes operative these documents should be used for guidance and should become common practice. It should also be noted that while these documents need to be adopted and become operative for Resource Management Act (RMA) purposes, several documents have operational requirements due to other statutes and could be enforced outside the RMA. Your cooperation in complying with these documents is encouraged.

Two of these documents, Engineering Appendix One: Vehicle Crossings Version 12 November 2012 and Engineering Appendix Four: Working in Roads and Trench Construction Version 12 November 2012, available for downloading below, are part of this section on working in roads.
