Aquatics Horowhenua opened its doors in 1990 and since then it has been continuously growing and expanding. We offer a variety of activities such as learn to swim, aquacise, fitness training, swim and water sports clubs as well as recreational water fun including inflatables and the hydro slide. It’s easy to understand why our facilities are so popular. 

He angitūtanga - The opportunity 

Swimming is a crucial lifesaving skill, and we are proud to deliver swim-precisive swimming and water safety lessons to our community. Proficiency in Te Reo Māori and/or NZSL would be highly regarded. We teach people of all ages and abilities and work closely with our local schools and sports clubs to support the growth and capability in this area. As an Aquatics Education Instructor, you’ll take learn to swim classes across all ability levels, providing a safe learning environment and adapt teaching depending on each persons needs. 

Working hours for the swim school are 9am – 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 12pm Saturdays with shifts ranging throughout these hours.  Flexibility of locations will be required as we offer these classes across our three Aquatic Centre's - Levin, Foxton & Shannon.

He kōrero mōu - About you 

As a starter, experience in the industry would be great. However, if you’ve got the passion and desire to learn, we will provide you with the training and qualifications to perform swimmingly in the role. You will go through basic first aid training and as you progress, you will have opportunity to complete various AUSTSWIM industry qualifications.
