Request for information from between January 2017 and July 2022 about the number of registered dogs in the Horowhenua District; the number of attacks on people Council has recorded; among all the possible interventions on the attacking dog following an attack, a list of how many of each of those interventions were taken (and for how many there was no intervention); and among all the possible consequences for the dog owner following an attack, a list of how many of each of those were taken (and for how many there was no consequence).

Request for a range of dog-related information for the 2014-2018 financial (fiscal) years including the number of registered dogs, estimated number of all un-registered dogs, total number of complaints received for a dog attack on a person, classifications made for menacing dogs due to behaviour or breed, total number of dogs recorded as being chemically or surgically sterilised (de-sexed), total number of dogs that had a microchip, total number of infringements for non-registration, total number of infringements for failure to control dog, total number of prosecutions for a dog attack on a person, etc; as well as an outline of the cost of dog registrations, the cost structure and the approximate percentage each category contributes to total dog-control income and dog-safety education.

Questions relating to the number of dogs registered in the Horowhenua District, the number of applications made for responsible dog owner licence, total revenue collected, the number of fines and infringements issued and the total dollar value, the number of rehomed and destroyed/euthanised dogs, and the total spend on systems and processes necessary to run dog control/animal control.

Questions relating to whether Council has issued any resource consent for subdivision or any other activity which authorises an activity subject to conditions relating to domestic cats, or declined any consent in circumstances where the impacts of domestic cats on wildlife has been relevant to the decision to decline.
