This quaint little reserve has a nautical theme to it. The creek running along the eastern boundary is very popular with local white baiters, the children’s play area includes an enormous slide and is a sheltered spot for a picnic. From the reserve, you can link to walkways along the banks of the Manawatu River or past the estuary and down to the beach. Enjoy the views across the river to the Tararua Mountain ranges. There’s a great viewing platform of the Foxton Estuary, the tidal outlet for the river. Dogs allowed on leash, but not near the playground.
