The Community Events and Programmes Fund provides funding assistance for costs associated with community and social development programmes, one off celebratory, educational, competitive or exhibitive projects and events.
Organising a major event in the Horowhenua District? You might be eligible to apply for Horowhenua Major Events Funding, for support to run your event. This fund also provides for events which may not qualify as a major event but have the potential to transition into a major event over time.
The Operations and Small Assets Fund provides funding assistance for costs associated with enhancing the community though the services or programmes they provide, administrative and operational costs and maintaining or acquiring minor assets.

Horowhenua District Council has activated the Mayoral Relief Fund, originally established to support residents impacted by the May 2022 tornado, allocating $40,000 from the fund to affected residents. If you were impacted by the tornado on Tuesday 8 April 2025, you may qualify for financial assistance from the Mayoral Relief Fund. Initial grants are for up to $1,000.
