Overview

Proposed Plan Change 1 proposes the extension of the historic heritage buildings, structures and sites that are currently listed in Schedule 2 of the District Plan.

It also includes subsequent amendments to the District Plan such as updating the Planning Maps to identify the additional listed heritage buildings, structures and sites and some minor amendments to Chapter 13.

The additional buildings, structures and sites that are proposed for listing in Schedule 2 have been nominated as part of a public process, were assessed by heritage experts and have the property owners approval for listing.

Public Notification and Submissions

Proposed Plan Change 1 was publicly notified on Friday, 3 November 2017 and is now closed for public submissions.

The Section 32 Report, the District Plan Text and Planning Map Amendments and the Technical Assessments of Buildings, Structures and Sites are all available to view below. Hard copies of these documents are available to view at Council’s main office in Levin (126 Oxford Street) and the libraries in Levin, Foxton and Shannon during usual opening hours.

Properties that will be directly affected by the changes to the Heritage listings will receive more information in the mail.

2. Submissions closed

Submissions closed on 5 December 2017. Further submissions will be open early in the New Year.
