Green Flag - The prestigious international accreditation rewards parks which provide high quality and innovative recreational experiences for communities.

Horowhenua is only one behind Australia when it comes to Green Flag Awards.

The prestigious international accreditation rewards parks which provide high quality and innovative recreational experiences for communities, and with five in our district we only have one less Green Flag than the whole of Australia.

The award is maintained by a rigorous annual re-awarding application process, and all Horowhenua parks which have previously received a Green Flag were re-awarded in 2023.
