A recent review of footpath bonds for Building Consents issued between 1998 and 2013 has found that a number of property owners in Horowhenua are entitled to a footpath bond refund.
These property owners will be directly contacted (via email and/or phone) by Horowhenua District Council.
You will be entitled to a refund if you have completed the works on your property to an acceptable standard and it does not result in damage to the Council’s roading and footpath network.
In order for the refund to be processed, we will require a verified proof of bank account which can be either of the following:
- A bank deposit slip for the bank account the bond should be refunded to
- A bank statement header that includes a bank logo, account name and account number
This information needs to be provided no later than 16 June 2025.
