Samantha Hansen (sport)
Samantha is an athlete of the highest calibre. Her major disciplines include CrossFit and weightlifting: In CrossFit, Samantha recently placed 3rd out of the entire pacific region and 39th worldwide. In weightlifting, she placed 1st in her weight class for the lower north island. This led to her selection in the youth Olympic weightlifting team, which is set to compete in Malaysia in the near future.
Her scholarship will be used to assist the costs relating to this trip. Looking forward, Samantha plans to continue competing, gain a coaching certification, and potentially even open her own gym.
