Te Takere Levin Visitor Information Centre

Location: 10 Bath Street, Levin Open: 7 Days

The Levin Visitor Information Centre at Te Takere is a one-stop shop to find out everything you need to know or to make bookings for the Horowhenua, its surrounding areas and even the rest of New Zealand.

Go in and visit the team in Levin's wonderful new library. You can talk to one of the staff or pick up one of the many free brochures or maps. The helpful and friendly staff can put together an itinerary including some of the different attractions for you. Whether you are travelling in Levin or further afield, there's an information and booking service available and the team can organise bus, train, ferry and aeroplane tickets or help you find accommodation anywhere in New Zealand.

The local Leisurely Levin or Horowhenua brochure details some of the many places to experience in our District, but if shopping is your thing, pick up a Factory Shops or Second-hand Shops brochure.

You can also check out their quirky range of New Zealand inspired jewellery and gifts for yourself, a friend or for sending overseas.

Shannon Railway Museum & Visitor Centre

Location: Plimmer Terrace (opposite the shops), Shannon     Open: 7 Days

The historic Shannon Railway Station now operates as a Museum and Visitor Centre. It is manned entirely by a team of local volunteers, managed by Shannon Progressive Association and supported by Horowhenua District Council.

Built in 1893 the Station is the only one of its kind still open for the public to view and we are committed to its preservation whilst passionate about promoting Shannon and the wider Horowhenua to visitors both local national and international.
