Waste Tip - Don't overfill your bin

To help our teams emptying your bin, and to give it a greater service life, avoid forcing too many items in at a time.

Overfilling your bin so the lid can’t close also means it’s more likely the wind will lift it up and blow your recycling down the street. Consider using a bin clip to prevent this from happening.

You can buy clips for $5 from the Council Civic Building, Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom and Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō.
