Bus Tour - Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant and Levin Landfill

Bus tour.

As part of our consultation on the Long Term Plan Amendment (LTPA) and Annual Plan (AP), we're trying something new by offering a bus tour to provide the opportunity to find out more about how our drinking water is treated, what happens to your wastewater once you flush your toilet, and what the Levin Landfill site currently looks like.

Tour Sessions

The tours, with 20 people on each, will be run as follows:

  • Morning session - from 9:45am to 1pm; and
  • Afternoon session - from 1:15pm to 4:30pm.

The tours will start and finish at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō (10 Bath Street, Levin) where you can join your Elected Members for a BBQ (from 12 noon until 2pm), ask any questions you may have and view some drone footage of these sites (including parts you can’t see on the tour). This is to help you with your LTP Amendment and Annual Plan submission and add to your understanding of these sites. For the afternoon session, after the tour you can stay around to view the drone footage and talk to your Elected Members until 5pm.

Get in quickly. Due to Health and Safety restrictions, registrations are capped at 20 people for each tour.  If you miss out and would like to be put on a waiting list please email ltp@horowhenua.govt.nz

Due to reaching our capacity for both bus tours, registrations have now closed. If you have any queries, please email ltp@horowhenua.govt.nz

Health & Safety Restrictions
