He angitūtanga - The opportunity
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Infrastructure Project Coordinator to join our Community Infrastructure team at Horowhenua District Council.
This is a dynamic role where you’ll support the planning, coordination, and delivery of key infrastructure projects. You’ll work across teams and with external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with Council’s strategic goals.
You’ll play a key role in managing documentation, reporting, financial tracking, and stakeholder engagement, while contributing to the development of resilient infrastructure for our district.
Some of the key tasks for this role include:
- Coordinating project planning, documentation, and reporting
- Supporting procurement, budgeting, and financial forecasting
- Facilitating cross-team collaboration and governance processes
- Managing project registers and documentation systems (eg SharePoint, CM9)
- Leading coordination of iwi partnership agreements for capital upgrades
- Preparing Council reports, briefings, and tender documentation
- Supporting the Community Infrastructure Leadership Group with key projects
- Promoting health and safety culture across all project activities.

You’ll be a skilled communicator and organiser with a passion for community outcomes. You’re reliable, meticulous, and confident working across diverse teams. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in project coordination or similar roles
- Familiarity with local government or public sector environments
- Financial management and procurement knowledge
- Strong report writing and digital skills
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and experience engaging with iwi
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
