Now is the time to help shape Horowhenua’s future. Tell us what matters most and be part of the conversation. Feedback closes at 4pm on Sunday 7 June 2026.
Visit Let's Kōrero Horowhenua
I moved to Taitoko in late 2019 into my best friend's house with their family. They made me feel incredibly welcome and I appreciate my found family for all they've done for me. I've made many friends here, and I'm slowly becoming more acquainted with the community.
The Horowhenua Learning Centre (HLC), Horowhenua Youth Health Service and Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō are my favourite places to visit in our town. The staff are all wonderful people who really do make a difference in our community!
I am especially grateful to Council for holding the Uenuku Ball, as well as Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō for letting Free2BMe use their space for meetings. I've definitely grown more into my queer identity here. I feel like I can be myself and I hope to make others feel the same way.
Horowhenua is a beautiful place and I really do love it here. I hope that newcomers love it just as much.
All of the We are Horowhenua photos will on display around Levin. View Map If you want to see this photo up close and personal, visit the Waka Walls at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō.
