Courtney Butcher (academia)

Courtney is a year 13 student at Waiopehu College, and is an exceptional student with particular regard to academics. Her teachers say she has what they call a ‘hard worker’ mentality. As an interesting statistic: Courtney was awarded dux for every year of her first four years at college, this year is no exception with Courtney being awarded the top academia award for Waiopehu College being named dux for 2016.

Her exemplary academic ability is not the only focus however; she also is the student representative on the board of trustees, a member of the school stage challenge team, and has been involved with community fundraising.  She is planning to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the field of Law at Victoria University; this scholarship will aid in those costs.
