Simone Davie is a committed road and track cyclist that has competed at an impressive number of regional and national cycling events over the last two years in both individual and team categories.

She was part of the team that set the 2000m team pursuit record at the Track Nationals. At the 2014 Lake Taupo event she was the ‘First woman home’ for the 80km leg.

In 2015 she competed in the elites, under 19 and omnium (6 event) categories of the Track Nationals event, an impressive feat for someone who tonight turns 17 years old!

Simone is a team player that gives back to her fellow cyclists, mentoring juniors and less experienced girls during training. A member of her school Sports Committee, Simone’s community attitude saw her recognised with the 2014 Most Committed Cyclist award at Palmerston North Girls High.

Simone now has her sights set on the Track Nationals in 2016 and is training ahead of selection for the New Zealand Under 19s Women’s Cycling squad.
