Samuel Davies (Academia and Sport)

Samuel Davies is a hard working achiever in both physical and mental pursuits Taking part in Duke of Edinburgh, Mathex team, Stage Challenge and Samuel is an enthusiastic student and deputy prefect at Horowhenua College.

Academically Samuel has received an excellence endorsement for NCEA Level 1 and 2, alongside a string of awards for top finishes in many of his classes, from Accounting to Physical Education.

On track to finish NCEA level 3 with a final excellence endorsement, Samuel is looking to pursue a Law and Commerce degree at Victoria University in 2016.

Samuels sporting background is just as diverse, playing Basketball, Hockey, Football, Canoe Polo and competing for Horowhenua College in regional Cross Country and Athletics competitions.

Samuel has been a regional representative in age group Hockey for four years, collecting a number of awards including a National Championship gold medal in 2012, a year he was also named MVP. In a role as sports prefect Samuel has been coach and manager of the Horowhenua College Senior Mixed Hockey team for 2014 and 2015. At age 17 Samuel is now a representative for the Central Districts u21 Hockey team.

Samuel receives two awards, one in the category of Academia and a further award in the category of Sport.
