Natalie Butler-Smith (Community Service)

Natalie-Butler-Smith-December-2015

Natalie Butler-Smith is a tireless St John Horowhenua volunteer. Involved with St John since age 6, Natalie has been awarded a 500 hours community service shield for services to St John Youth this year.

As a Cadet Sergant of the Levin St John Youth Division, Natalie has worked in the St John opportunity shop in a number of roles and has contributed to youth programmes. Natalie is the youth representative on the local St John Area committee, where she has worked towards fundraising and project planning. She is now working towards her 800 hours shield.

Her contributions to St John saw Natalie acknowledged as St John Divisional Cadet of the year in 2014. Then in 2015, Natalie received a Grand Prior award, presented by the Governor General.

In December Natalie will be formally recognised with a promotion to Cadet Leader, a position which requires proven leadership ability, training and Gold level first aid.

Natalie plans to attend the 2016 St John National Youth Festival held in Auckland, where she will continue to gain valuable skills learning advanced first aid and team work.
