Kate Rowan (Academia and Art & Culture)

Kate Rowan is a budding achiever with an impressive record at only age 13. Kate is recognised in two categories, receiving a double award in Academia and Art & Culture  

As a pupil of Levin Intermediate, Kate has been decorated with their prestigious Matauranga academic excellence award and Tutangata leadership award multiple times.

Kate has been an enthusiastic student of extension programmes and external competitions. Kate has received a number of Distinction and High Distinction results in the University of New South Wales English competitions, a feat which also landed her the Year 7 Principals Award for English in 2014.

As a music student Kate has taken part in a Songwriting camp, where she wrote and performed a song of her own. As an art student Kate has shown considerable talent and confidence, which awarded her with an honours label for art at year 7. This year Kate is a member of an art extension programme, and working with a partner, created a wearable arts costume for performance at Wellington’s Artsplash.

Most recently Kate has been working on a picture for CS Law to adorn their Christmas Cards. Kate receives two awards, one in the category of Academia and a further award in the category of Arts and Culture.
