Horowhenua District Council oversees of a number of sports grounds with added facilities for organised sports activities and other events.
These sports grounds cater for both organised and casual sports. So, whether you're looking for a great spot to kick a ball around, have a casual game of touch rugby or play competitive sports, we have grounds available all year round.

The Levin Domain has a grandstand on top of changing rooms, toilets, and private clubrooms. It is home to the Levin Tennis and Squash clubs, the Laurie Roberts Velodrome, and is Horowhenua's premier rugby grounds.
Popular sports domain in Levin to enjoy playing or watching a game of cricket during the summer months and with toilets available 24/7. To hire the private clubrooms contact the Weraroa Cricket Club at info@weraroa.co.nz.
Situated close to Foxton Pool and right in the centre of Foxton is Easton Park, a sports ground with rugby posts and grandstand.
Horowhenua’s premier sports park with grass/artificial cricket wickets, netball courts, soccer fields, private hockey stadium, changing rooms and BMX track. Popular for hosting tournament, events .
Situated off State Highway 1 is Victoria Park, with a large grassed area and picnic tables. The area has an amenities building which can be opened for bookings.
Western Park also has a playground and large open grassed area that can be used for informal sports such as cricket or touch. Dogs are allowed leashed at the rear of the park only. It's also home to the Horowhenua Pentanque Club.
Consists of football/equestrian grounds and a small hall. Used by Manakau United Football Club and the Horowhenua Adult Riding Club. Please contact the MDCA for enquiries or bookings.
An extensive sports ground with grandstand, public hall, skate park and courts, Shannon Domain is used for both winter and summer sports such as rugby union, touch, athletics, tennis and netball.
Situated just a few minutes from the centre of town, it’s a great place for footy practice, a jog or a game of cricket or touch with the family. Dog friendly spot when there is no sport taking place.
Playford Park has lighting towers on the fields, Capable of holding regional and national sports tournaments and is training facility for rugby union, rugby league, softball and touch rugby.
The large open grassed area with a small hall and public toilet. A good spot to stop for an ice-cream, kick a ball or let the dog have a run around when community events are not taking place.
Ohau Domain is a well equipped sportsground that sits next to attractive Bishops Vineyard. It has a sports pavilion and clubrooms and hosts many sports tournaments.
