The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is leading New Zealand's response to H5 bird flu (H5N1). You can help protect our native birdlife and local poultry by knowing what to do. If you see three or more sick or dead wild birds together, please don't touch or move them. Report them to MPI and follow the latest advice.

A gateway to the Tararuas, Gladstone Reserve is a horseshoe shaped reserve surrounded by native bush that offers safe swimming in the Ōhau River as well as access to bush walks that will take you to the Waiopehu huts or link to the Te Araroa walkway.
Situated just 10 minutes from Levin’s centre, it’s a great spot for family picnics with the dog and in the summer months. Vehicle access is available from 1 December until 28 April when the grounds are generally dry and more suitable to drive onto.
