As part of our stormwater upgrade and renewal programme, we are installing a new stormwater main and renewing the existing one which is nearing the end of its life, on Salisbury Street, Levin.
This work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2024.
Trenching, installing new pipes, backfilling the trench and reinstating the road and grass will take place as part of this project.
Planned start date: Monday 15 April 2024
Expected completion date: Friday 28 June 2024
Work Hours: 7.30am to 5.30pm
Affected area: Salisbury Street, Levin - from Queen Street West continuing south for 128m and including Gladys Taylor Park
To minimise disruption to residents and road users, the work will be done in stages. Some parking in different sections may be affected at different times as the work is underway.
Gladys Taylor Park will be closed in sections to allow for our community to have partial use of the park and access to the footpaths.
To keep our tamariki safe, the playground in Gladys Taylor Park will be closed when there is work in the immediate area. Levin Aquatic Centre will be open during its usual operating hours.
The public toilets on Salisbury Street, near Levin Domain, will be temporarily closed for a short period during the project. Toilets are available at The Levin Warehouse carpark on Queen Street West.
Please take notice of, and follow, the temporary traffic management each day as it may change from day to day.
All excavations will be fenced-off and covered at the end of each day. For your safety and the safety of others, please obey the temporary speed limits and avoid fenced-off areas.
Disruptions will be kept to a minimum while the work is being undertaken and the work will be signposted.
