Kohuturoa Marae

Kohuturoa marae is located 4 km west of Levin, on the shores of Lake Horowhenua. its principal hapū include Ngāi Te Ao, Ngarue, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Pariri, Ngāti Tamarangi, Ngāti Whanokirangi and Punahau. It belongs to the Muaūpoko confederation.

The whare tupuna is named Pariri, and the wharekai is Te Aroha. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Kurahaupō, the maunga Tararua, the river Hokio and the moana Punahau.
