The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is leading New Zealand's response to H5 bird flu (H5N1). You can help protect our native birdlife and local poultry by knowing what to do. If you see three or more sick or dead wild birds together, please don't touch or move them. Report them to MPI and follow the latest advice.

Established in 1991, Horowhenua Hunting Club is a family-orientated club dedicated to all aspects of hunting. Members meet once a month to discuss club activities, events and hunting-related topics.
The club operates a private shooting range for members every second Sunday, catering for calibres up to .45. Regular range competitions and club hunting trips are also organised throughout the year.
Several club members are actively involved in Search and Rescue (SAR).
Horowhenua Hunting Club welcomes hunters of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're an experienced hunter looking to connect with like-minded people or someone new to hunting wanting to get involved, you're welcome to visit the clubrooms on Parker Avenue beside the rugby field at 7pm on the first Monday of the month and introduce yourself.
