The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is leading New Zealand's response to H5 bird flu (H5N1). You can help protect our native birdlife and local poultry by knowing what to do. If you see three or more sick or dead wild birds together, please don't touch or move them. Report them to MPI and follow the latest advice.

Please report damage of street furniture to Council. Alternatively, you can use the Mobile Alert Application to report and send us a photo.
'Mobile Alert' is a free app that enables users to notify Horowhenua District Council via their phone or other smart device such as a tablet of any non-urgent faults or issues, including a photo and message.
The information received by Council includes a map location and GPS coordinates of the issue, the incident category selected, as well as a photo and any message or contact details provided by the sender and can be forwarded directly to Council contractors or staff for action.
