Hairdressers

This page contains helpful information for hairdressers, camping grounds and funeral directors. If you are uncertain about a particular requirement, please contact our Environmental Health team.

Mobile Shops and Hawkers

Anyone wanting to operate as a hawker (selling goods door to door) or mobile shop is required to obtain a permit to trade first. This page contains the application form to apply for a permit.

Amusement Devices

All mechanical amusement devices at events, such as ferris wheels, roller coasters, dodgem cars and bumper cars, must have a Certificate of Registration issued by Worksafe New Zealand. Find out how to apply for a permit to operate amusement devices.

Camping Grounds

Camping grounds are inspected annually to ensure they comply with the Camping Grounds Regulations 1985. The basic requirements for camping grounds and links to legislation can be accessed from here.

Funeral Directors

Funeral Directors are inspected annually to ensure they comply with the the Health (Burial) Regulations 1946. View information about the basic requirements for funeral directors and how to apply for registration.
