Dog Renewal Registration

Once you have received your Application to Renew Registration of Dogs form by post, find out how you can complete and pay for your renewal registration below.

Registration fee payments are due on or before 31 July 2019. Fee payments made after 31 July will incur a 50% late fee penalty payment.

Have your form ready

Ensure you have your Application to Renew Registration of Dogs form for 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. You can complete renewal registrations online for up to six dogs. If you own more than six dogs, please contact us.

Check the details

If your renewal doesn't match the form you received and you need to make some changes to your registration, please contact us. If your dog ownership has not changed, continue to step 3.

Have your dog tag number(s) ready

Our online form will automatically fill in some of the details for you. You’ll just need to have your dog tag number(s) ready to enter into the form (found on the green tags which have '30-6-19' on them). If you have misplaced your dog tag(s), please contact us before continuing.

Ensure you have a credit/debit card or internet banking details for POLi so you can pay and finalise your renewal registration online.

In Person

Bring in your renewal form

You can pay by cash, EFTPOS or cheque at any Horowhenua District Council office. You will need your renewal form(s) with you to pay.

Visit your nearest Council Office

Pop into your nearest Council office:

  • Levin (Main Office), 126 Oxford Street, Levin, open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays).
  • Foxton Service Centre, 92 Main Street, Foxton, open 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm Saturday to Sunday (except public holidays).
  • Shannon Service Centre, Plimmer Terrace, Shannon, open 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 5pm Monday to Friday, Saturday only 10am to 12 noon.

By Mail

Send in your renewal form

Payment can be made by cheque through the post to the Horowhenua District Council main office. You will need to post your renewal form(s) with your payment so we know what dog(s) you are paying for.

  • Please note: Payments received by us after 31 July 2019 will incur the 50% late penalty fee.  
  • Dog owners who believe they may have difficulty in paying their dog registration fees are encouraged to contact Council on (06) 366 0999 and discuss possible options.
