Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park

Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park -  Pictured De Molen and Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom.

The park around Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom and the 14th Century Foxton windmill is a favorite stop for visitors.

Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom houses both Maōri and Dutch museums and gallery spaces, library and café.

De Molen is a working windmill and the ground floor is home to the Dutch Market. You can buy stone ground flour, milled right here in de Molen, along with yummy Dutch goodies and souvenirs.

The park is also home to the Flax Stripper Museum and Whare Manaaki Māori Gallery & Workshop.

The historic Foxton horse-drawn tram takes passengers for Sunday rides from 11.00am – 2.00pm (weather permitting) and can be booked for weddings & functions.

The public toilets in the Dutch Oven café and are open during opening hours.
