Horowhenua District Council facilities (except Levin and Foxton waste transfer stations) will be closed for Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day on Monday 26 September. There are no changes to Monday kerbside rubbish and recycling collections.

Any time there is a group of people together there is an inherent increase in risk. Horowhenua District Council requires you to complete an Event Notification Form if you are planning on hosting a public event that will attract 100 people or more.
This form helps us understand and plan for any increased hazards created by your event, assist with any licensing requirements and gives us the opportunity to pass on any useful tips we have gained through our experience.To ensure any licensing requirements can be processed within the statutory timeframes, you are required to submit your application at least twenty five (25) working days prior to your event.

Upon receipt, your form will be reviewed by the Horowhenua Emergency Management Committee. This Committee comprises of local emergency services, Horowhenua District Council and support agencies. The Committee has a statutory responsibility to manage the hazards in our community.
