River Mouth Trail Walk or ride the hard packed sand on the beach at mid to low tide, along the river and back to the surf club through parkland.
Sunset Walk Sunset Walkway showcases the internationally recognised and protected Ramsar site in the Manawatu River Estuary. Spot migratory birds, enjoy river views, watch boats and fishing at the Boat Club, or stop for a BBQ picnic at the boat ramp.
Cousins Ave Track This is a great track for mountain-biking. Turn left at the intersection of Nash Pde and Cousins Ave. Enter the forest at the end of the road and follow the track back to the start.
Ferry Reserve Track Enjoy the cool shade of this young forestry area as you meander along the grassy path.
Palmer Rd Pathway & Foxton Beach Loop Palmer Road shared pathway provides a 3.5km off-road walk/cycle path along the northern fringe of Foxton Beach.
The Foxton to Foxton Beach Connection This is a dedicated pedestrian and cycle pathway alongside Foxton Beach Rd. The actual pathway is 2.4km long but additional time will need to be added at both ends to enjoy pathways, parks and heritage within the towns.
Piriharakeke Walkway Enjoy views of the Manawatu River loop and farmland while learning about the history of the area from historic signs and photographs along the walk.
Foxton’s Historic Walk This is an easy footpath walk. Start at Duncan St and follow the signs to all points of information.
Te Awahou Board Walk Take a stroll through the river’s riparian zone, pausing at the viewing platform to enjoy the tranquillity of the water.
River Loop Amble and Flax Walkway Explore the history and culture of Foxton. A grassy track along the Manawatu River front connects Te Awahou Board Walk at the north end, the Flax Walk and the start of the Piriharakeke Track to the south.
