An oversized 173 tonne catamaran boat hull will be transported through Foxton and Foxton Beach between 4am and 4pm on Thursday 17 January.
The boat hull will move south along Russell Street (State Highway 1) into Foxton, turn right into Robinson Street and move down Lady’s Mile into Foxton Beach. It will then travel down Foxton Beach Road, Seabury Avenue and Linklater Avenue into Hartley Street.
Russell Street (SH1) will be closed to traffic between Victoria Street and Avenue Road between 4am and 7:30am to allow transportation of the boat hull and removal and reinstatement of power lines. A detour will be in place along Victoria Street, Park Street and Avenue Road, Foxton, during these hours.
Robinson Street will be closed to traffic between property numbers 15 to 39 between 4am and 10am to allow a stopping point for the boat hull and power line removal along Lady’s Mile. A detour will be in place along Thynne Street, Jenks Street and Park Street.
The boat hull will travel along Lady’s Mile, Foxton Beach Road, Seabury Avenue and Linklater Avenue into Hartley Street between 10am and 4pm. These roads will remain open to traffic. However, traffic controls will be in place and motorists may experience delays.
Due to the height of the hull, Electra will need to remove and reinstate overhead power lines on the route. Affected properties have been contacted by Electra.
