Psychologist, author and television personality Nigel Latta is coming to Levin to host two special events at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō.
On Tuesday 19 February, Mr Latta will host Parentland, a free evening presentation to help young people navigate the teenage years. Aimed at parents with teenagers or children approaching their teenage years, the presentation will offer practical strategies for helping young people make a successful transition from childhood to adolescence.
A business breakfast with Mr Latta, held in partnership between Horowhenua District Council and the Horowhenua New Zealand Trust as an Electra BA5 (Business After 5) event, will follow from 7am to 9am on Wednesday 20 February. The breakfast, The Revolution Revolution, will offer an opportunity to gain insights from Mr Latta’s ‘What Next’ television series, which examined New Zealanders’ views of the future and what it might mean for us all, and learn how business should respond to our fast-changing world.
Horowhenua District Council Civic & Community Events Coordinator, Melissa Steedman, said it was exciting to bring one of New Zealand’s best speakers to Horowhenua.
“Mr Latta is well known as an engaging, entertaining and thought-provoking speaker. Hosting events of this calibre helps to make our district a vibrant place to live and an attractive destination to visit,” she said.
“We expect both events to be very popular, so be quick to register if you’d like to attend.”
Parentland is free, but numbers are limited and registration is essential. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-po, Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom or Shannon Library.
Tickets for the Revolution Revolution breakfast are $25 per person, and are available from Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō or online from Eventbrite.
