Level 2 water restrictions are in place for Levin and Ōhau from Friday 13 January 2023 until further notice, due to increased pressure on the water supply and to ensure the demand does not exceed the available supply. Level 2 water restrictions remain in place for Foxton & Foxton Beach until further notice.

Trig Road Walkway to close for logging but alternative track available

The popular Trig Road Walkway, directly east of Levin, will temporarily close from Monday 9 January 2023 to around mid-2024 as the trees are ready for harvest. The Trig Walkway features walking and biking tracks, and access to the Tararua Forest Park via Kohitere Forest. While Trig Road will be closed for logging, alternative access will be provided through the Grey Bush Track.
