Michael Feyen

A Resilient And Trustworthy Mayor

My principal place of residence is in the Horowhenua District Council area. I am also standing for the MidCentral District Health Board.
I reside in Foxton with my partner and love the Horowhenua District.

I am standing for a second term as mayor, to complete what I set out to do when you first elected me. It has been a difficult time in Council but the wheels are now turning to a more efficient, transparent and community based Council.

My priorities include reducing our district's debt levels, ensuring quality drinking and waste-water infrastructure, ensuring the O2NL happens, closing the Levin landfill, regular commuter train services to Wellington, encouraging new big business and therefore employment to Levin, restoring Lake Horowhenua and the Manawatü river loop at Foxton.

I believe in people power, making informed and sound decisions and implementing effective co-management with Tangata Whenua on all environmental and cultural matters.

I have demonstrated my resilience as Mayor and need a new open-minded team of Councillors to progress.

Kaihautu o te Kaunihera o Horowhenua:
Ko Micheal FEYEN, (Hei Kaihautu Aumangea, He Tangata Pono) He tunga tuarua tenei moku, kia tu ano hei upoko Ariki mo te Poari o Horowhenua.

Kupu mana to te tangata, kia tutuki pai ai nga whakahaeretanga kia noho ngatahi me te tangata whenua me ona taketake a Iwi nei.
Hei Kaihautu Aumangea, kua whakaatu e au, ma te whakaaro kotahi, ka tutuki te mahi, kia pai, kia marama, kia puata.

Victoria Kaye-Simmons

My principal place of residence is in the Horowhenua District Council area. I am also standing for the Levin Ward.

I am of European, Cook Island and Mäori descent and stand proudly in that space.

Having 9 years experience as an elected councillor for the Levin ward, and 24 years as a business owner right here in Horowhenua. I'm real, honest, local and it's time to put myself forward for the role of Mayor.

Having been born, raised and educated here, married with two adult children, 2 dogs and a cat, this is my home.

I am motivated and committed to this district. As a community focused person who wants the community wellbeing at the heart of everything it does, means engagement and consultation is extremely important to ensure positive and progressive relationships. We have continued growth coming our way, and with that brings challenges and opportunities for the entire district, let's do this together.

Bernie-WANDEN.png

Bernie Wanden

My principal place of residence is in the Horowhenua District Council area.

It has been a privilege to have been a Councillor this term and to contribute positively to the wellbeing of this District. I have been a committed Councillor and have always made my decisions based on what I believe is in the best interests of our District.

There will be a number of challenges and opportunities that we need to face over the next 3 years. It is vital that we are focussed on real issues and that we deliver the best outcomes for this District.

I believe that the values and principles that I have accumulated during my business and community involvement, has given me an excellent foundation to continue to serve this community and I want to lead and be part of a Governance team that is willing to work hard and ensure that we live in the realities of today and prepare for the future.

Candidate Profiles - Kere Kere Ward

Electing 2 Councillors

Each Candidate for the 2019 Local Body Elections has prepared a candidate profile statement. This statement is the same as the one contained in the Instructions & Candidate Information booklet which will be supplied along with voting papers.

David-ALLAN.png

David Allan

My principal place of residence is in the Kere Kere Ward area.

I have spent the last three years on the Foxton Community Board. Prior to that I served on the Horowhenua District Council in a number of roles, including Chair of the Hearings Committee and liaison councilor on the Community Board. In addition I have had a strong association with our area as a teacher at Manawatu College.

I hope during my time on both Council and the Board I have demonstrated a commitment both to Foxton and Kere Kere as a whole. But I also hope I can be judged as being fair -acknowledging that we are part of a wider district and that we are all the richer if we think and act district wide.

What a buzzing, vibrant place Foxton and the Beach have become. I want to be part of the next chapter.

Ross-BRANNIGAN.png

Ross Brannigan

My principal place of residence is in the Kere Kere Ward area.

I have represented the KereKere Ward on Council for the past 6 years and during this time there have been some brilliant outcomes for our Community.

We have seen projects Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom and CBD development come to fruition, the River Loop is next!

These projects and other major investments in our town have seen a transformation from a struggling community to a vibrant and proud one. People are coming to spend and invest in an area that has shown confidence in itself to benefit current and future generations. I'm extremely proud to have been part of that journey.

Our wider District is experiencing unprecedented growth which Council is planning for accordingly. Growth has many benefits but innovative funding methods are required to ensure the funding burden does not fall solely on the existing ratepayer. This needs strong sensible leadership, I am committed to providing just that if re-elected.

John-GIRLING.png

John Girling

My principal place of residence is in the Kere Kere Ward area. I am also standing for the Foxton Community Board.

Currently member of the Foxton Community Board, Chair, Foxton Horse Drawn Tram Society and Foxton Flax Stripper Museum. Founding Chair, [now retired] of Wildlife Foxton Trust. Member, Manawatu Estuary Trust, Save Our River Trust and Environment Network Manawatu.

Wide experience over many years in management or ownership of a dairy farm, construction company, health club, weekly newspaper etc. Domestic and overseas experience as an Industrial psychologist, Due Diligence inspector for a Swiss lending organisation covering projects from golf courses and marinas to hotels and casinos in USA and Europe and recently, 16 years in China as a registered Foreign Expert in Agriculture and Education.

A strong believer in true democracy and localism who believes that more can be achieved through communication and occasional compromise. Local government should be run for the benefit of the community - with a large degree of transparency and open consultation.

Jenny-LUNDIE.png

Jenny Lundie

Independent

My principal place of residence is in the Kere Kere Ward area.

I'd like to tell you about myself and my beliefs.

I moved to Foxton after 13 years overseas, the last 6 of which I worked in Community Development in South America.

Back in NZ I obtained qualifications in Quantity Surveying and in Construction Management.

I'm currently an elected member of the Foxton Community Board.

I am involved in many community groups and have used the last 3 years to get to know as much as I can about our community. I believe that Council focus and spending should be on

fixing/replacing our failing infrastructure, servicing the needs of existing residents and improving the lives of our communities. I do not believe in lumbering the ratepayer with a huge debt burden and unaffordable rates.

If I become a Councillor I will be totally committed to fairness and transparency and it will be my full time job.

Ko Jenny Lundie töku ingoa.

Brett-RUSSELL.png

Brett Russell

Independent

My principal place of residence is in the Kere Kere Ward area.

Kia ora. My name is Brett Russell (MA Hons, MBA) and hopefully your new Councillor.

Let us together put the fizz back into Foxton. Why you should vote for me?

I am a proven no-nonsense business leader and change agent. Last year I called at a public meeting for a show of hands for the retention of the Foxton Community Board. 93% of you supported this motion. This is my mandate.

I will champion on your behalf local initiatives including the Wildlife Foxton Trust and Save Our River Trust.

Let's all work together and achieve buy-in from Iwi, Hapu, business and essential rural sector groups, for sensible partnership and sustainable progress.

Attracting a major employer, increased tourism and investment are definitely achievable for our stunning district.

Fresh innovative thinking leads to progress.

Tina-WAELEN.png

Tina Waelen

My principal place of residence is in the Kere Kere Ward area.

I moved to this lovely region six years ago from the south island, mainly to be closer to my daughters and grandchildren. I have had a vast amount of work experiences, owning my own businesses to working in security at international airports.

My ambition if elected will be to continue with advancing our roading upgrade hopefully to include up to Foxton.

I would also to try to implement a way to keep our rate increases at a low as possible level for all of us, in the future and to do my best to look into problems that affect the people of this region as they are brought to my attention.

Matt Clark

My principal place of residence is not in the Miranui Ward area.

I am committed to representing my community and am a Horowhenua stalwart. Born and raised in Levin I have witnessed the growth of the district and believe passionately in its future and potential.

Seeking to represent the community, bringing integrity and quality decision-making skills to the table, I will ensure all voices are heard through engagement, follow through and feedback to the district at all times. We need a council that is balanced, fair, and accountable.

As a father, husband, rugby referee, motor sport enthusiast, building industry operations manager, I know the value of working hard, taking ownership, working cooperatively, and respectfully. I am looking to be part of an environment where we can feel proud of the decisions we make, and the actions we take. A place where we can raise our families, support the vulnerable, and value our seniors. A place to live, play, work, and prosper.

Focus on Horowhenua

My principal place of residence is not in the Miranui Ward area.

Now retired, keen and able to dedicate the time and necessary energies to assist other community focused people, to start to solve the vast range of problems facing the residents of our District. These include; the poor Health of our citizens, lack of Employment for our young, pollution of our water and abuse of our Environment, the ever-increasing Debt for future generations, and our failing Infrastructure.

This is your chance to bring people with fresh ideas and experience to the Council. To learn proven methods from other communities in New Zealand, to work with your knowledge to establish the changes vitally required, for our future.

If you want a change, there must be a change.

I have grown up, worked in and around Shannon as well as Levin.

Our family is invested in this community of Shannon, Tokomaru and rural Horowhenua.

Horowhenua is growing, and as an advocate for the Eastern Gateway of our region, we need a diverse council that reflects our diverse community.

I am a qualified teacher with a passion for making change in young people's lives. I support better services and facilities, honest communication and sustainable infrastructure. Mike-BARKER.png

Mike Barker

Independent

My principal place of residence is not in the Levin Ward area.

Born in 1960 I've lived here my whole life, throughout this time I have seen this region change for better and for worse.

I believe the Horowhenua deserves better representation. Over the last term we have seen infighting and divisive behaviour from people more concerned with their own agendas than the people they were elected to represent.

I have been self-employed in Levin as a manufacturing jeweller for the last 32 years and am happily married with adult children. I believe in doing the best I can for my customers and family, and I would like to extend my down-to-earth approach and loyalty to the Horowhenua electorate.

Running as an independent, I believe you, and this region, deserve a better voice.

A New Perspective

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

Adding a new face will help council meetings move beyond its current issues, something that residents demand and deserve. I'll work towards a council that is considered a listener. A place where safe, robust discussions are held and where decisions are transparent. Better feedback will become the norm and residents should feel more involved in shaping our futures. Uniting us all towards common goals like debt reduction and climate change initiatives is a way forward. Our biggest opportunities lie in better transport networks - both road and rail. Commuter trains linking our neighbours must be good. Tourists coming in and goods going out should benefit all our towns. I want climate change to be foremost in our thinking with an emphasis on minimising waste discharge and pollution. My respect for the environment and people, coupled with an imagination for a grander Horowhenua will be my inspiration to work for you.

Neville-GIMBLETT.png

Neville Gimblett

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

Major issues for the incoming council are; the challenges of funding and managing population growth while protecting our natural environment; promoting positive social growth; and ensuring the fairest possible contribution for everyone to the rates bill.  This will need open minded councillors able to work constructively and effectively together even when holding differing viewpoints, and who can be analytical rather than overenthusiastic about specific projects.

As the owner of a Levin business I have the financial, analytical and relationship skills required to work effectively with a wide range of people, be they other councillors, staff, or the public.  I have no conflicts of interest in any projects within the District.  My previous experience as an elected representative, resident and business owner in the Kere Kere ward contributed to successful results there and gave me the experience and understanding required to get the best results for the community from our council.

Terry-HEMMINGSEN.png

Terry Hemmingsen

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

I am concerned about the way in which our Senior Citizens are governed by Council. From my reading of the current situation and from observations as the President of Horowhenua GreyPower, it would seem that despite continual submissions to Council across a range of topics, our Seniors are often marginalised or ignored.

I am standing for Council in an effort to give a greater voice, in the first instance to, our Seniors and then to their children and their grandchildren.

I have a great deal of experience to undertake this role. I have; served on Boards of Trustees for 26-years, been a Lions Clubs District Governor and the Lions NZ Council Chairman, been the Chairman of Kidney Kids NZ, the Founder and Chairman of North Island Primary Schools Ski Champs and now the President of Horowhenua GreyPower and the GPNZF Zone 4 Deputy Director.

I am born, raised and educated in Levin.

I am dedicated to my family, my wife Kyra and our daughters Lily and Darcey.

I am a local business owner and have considerable governance experience as a member of Fairfield School Board of Governors for 5 years, 2 years as Chairman.  I served 4 years as a Director for the Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Union and am currently a Director for the Horowhenua Kapiti Cricket Association. Having the opportunity to develop and grow our District is a role I'm prepared to deliver on.

I have long standing ties with the great people of our beautiful district. I am adept in creating and maintaining positive relationships, have a strong strategic mindset and recognise that collaborative input and drive results in positive outcomes. Investing your vote in me ensures an honest, reliable commitment.

Independent - for common sense

My principal place of residence is not in the Levin Ward area.

Your vote for change could make a big difference this election.

Our council needs a reset - free of the drama and personality politics that have dominated the last term. I'm for rebuilding trust, credibility and reputation of Council.

We need a focus on sensible spending, prioritising core services, and managed growth that protects our special character and lifestyle. Levin needs effective transport and services that work for locals.

We must promote our district as a great place to generate investment and well-paid local jobs. My wife and I live in Levin because it's a great place to raise a family.  I'm passionate about shaping a community that our kids can be proud of, so I'll champion opportunities for young people. We also can't forget senior citizens.

A self-employed legal consultant, I bring the right skills to be a responsible and sensible Councillor.

Vote for a fresh voice. Sam@jennings.co.nz 029-471-1130

Kia Ora Tatou,

I am a home and business owner here in the Horowhenua.

People and community are my genuine passion and this is why I'm standing for re-election this year.

I work hard within and around our community, inspired always by the commitment our people make towards improving the lives and work opportunities of others and the importance of making a positive difference. I absolutely love engaging and adding value to organisations, groups, and agencies that always need proactive team players on their side making a difference. Being an effective team player is necessary when communicating with others. Listening, caring, and hearing what your community wants is a must. I'm extremely proud of being born, raised and educated right here in Horowhenua.

I am here to stay as your advocate and I welcome your vote.

Paul-KING.png

Paul King

King For Community

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

Kia ora and hello to you, my name is Paul King. I am a family man.

To many of you I am known as the music man who owns Kings Sound Centre with my partner Eboney Taylor.

I frequently support schools, churches and charity groups and many other organisations in and outside our business.

For the last six years, Eboney and I have put on a community event, NZ Music Month Day in May for the Horowhenua with the help of local volunteers and musicians.

Family and friends and community, that's the Horowhenua I represent.

I will work towards a united council you can be proud of.

A vote for me will bring my business and communication skills into the council.

A vote for me will have someone who puts residents and ratepayers first, in all my decisions.

Vote King for community. Vote King for council.

Mike-LEPPER.png

Mike Lepper

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

I have lived in Horowhenua for 40 years. My children plus two subsequent generations have all been or are being educated at our local schools.

Prior to moving here I served in the NZ Army for 14 years.

The best credentials for serving on council and serving the residents of Horowhenua are to know how council operates and having worked for HDC for 35 years, finishing my employment there as Regulatory Services Manager, I have the knowledge and experience to ask the right questions.

I am a member of the Liquor Licensing Board and Creative New Zealand committees.

My 30 years involvement with the Levin Performing Arts continues to give me the opportunity to work with people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.

I believe my background gives me the necessary skills and experience to make a positive contribution to our district as part of a cohesive progressive team.

Jo-MASON.png

Jo Mason

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

Levin has been home for many years and we are part of a great district. After two terms on council I'm proud to stand again.  Not an easy decision following the death of my husband Ken after a brief illness in late 2018. I pride myself on positive, thoughtful decision making in all the roles I take on. Levin is a town growing like never before and council decisions made over the next term will contribute to outcomes for many years to come. Horowhenua is a district with potential and challenge ahead of it. Confident decision makers are required in our district's governance.

With my local experience in business, community and personal interests and skills gained over two terms of council I believe I have a good balance of knowledge and experience enabling me to contribute broadly to council.

Vote experience, integrity and passion for the place I call home.

Leigh-Griffen-MCMEEKEN.png

Leigh (Griffen) McMeeken

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

I have a strong sense of Community with a real passion for getting things done.  I have lived in the Horowhenua my entire life, raising my children here while operating a family owned business and working in the commercial and social sector.

I have previously served on the Councils Hearing, Economic Development and Community Development Committee's and held the Youth portfolio throughout my time on Council.

My past local government experience and proven driving force coupled with my energy and passion will enable me to make good decisions for the betterment of the community.

I know the importance of fostering and encouraging a robust local economy while balancing the complexities around protecting and sustaining our local natural environment.

I believe that stable leadership, strong community spirit, good environmental management, healthy economy, sound infrastructure and a visionary plan are necessary to ensure that the Horowhenua District thrives.

New Direction, New Council

My principal place of residence is not in the Levin Ward area.

I came to Hokio Beach in 2012.

Helped in setting up Hokio Environmental & Kaitiaki Alliance after HDC and HRC cut a stream and killed a wetland, that lead to involvement with tip issues.

I have seven years of involvement over Lake Horowhenua issues and am appalled that $7million plus has been spent on cleaning the lake with no results.

With the Ratepayers & Residents, and Water & Environmental Care Assn's, I have been working hard to make change for our waterways.

Because HDC has no interest in the environment in our area, HRC do nothing. A change of representation in both HDC and HRC is needed to get a fair and transparent deal for our community.

Clean fresh water & ocean, dealing with solid & human waste, inclusiveness, transport, jobs and health care are essential to the future for all of Horowhenua's residents and my 10 Grandchildren.

I have been actively involved in the following community initiatives:

Children's Day, Fill a Shoebox, Habitat for Humanity, St Joseph's BOT and St Vincent's, Fale Pasifika, Red Cross, White Ribbon, Life Changes Christmas Lunch and Levin Budget Service to name a few.

My skills and experiences include 20+ years in Mental Health, Disabilities, Mäori, Pasifika, Social Services fields in both NGO and government sectors. I've provided advice and guidance on strategic direction, policy and planning.

I love this community and believe in transparency, consultation and teamwork.

Given the opportunity, I will advocate and ask question on your behalf.

Iraia Peni

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

Kia ora ki te Horowhenua Community.

I have lived in the Levin Ward in the Horowhenua District for over 30 years with my wife Sharon. We love the Horowhenua and with my Ngati Raukawa and Ngati Whakatere whakapapa I feel at home here. As a first time candidate I will bring a measured, considered and mature approach to the council table, running on real solutions and not impossible promises. Making difficult decisions comes with the job and I welcome that challenge.  Of particular interest to me are the issues of debt management, health delivery, and housing. Between 2013 and 2018, 587 new people per year called Horowhenua home. With that growth rate, innovative housing developments, sound infrastructure and health delivery all need to be seriously prioritized. The key issue for the council is to be able to achieve this and ensure it is affordable for our ratepayers.

Kelly-TAHIWI.png

Kelly Tahiwi

My principal place of residence is in the Levin Ward area.

I am Kelly Tahiwi, born and bred local woman of Levin and Horowhenua. I am a mother, a grandmother. I am Muaüpoko and Ngati Raukawa. My background is in education, I work with young children, young people, community and a diverse range of community and business leaders.

My local governance experience includes schools, early childhood, sports, community, and Iwi organisations.

An active community and iwi member, I am concerned about our environment and our infrastructure. Let's get it right, for our children and for future generations.

I am committed to a region that is thriving, inclusive and sustainable for all. Horowhenua needs a diverse council reflecting the growing diversity of our people. It is time for a change, it is time for authentic, inclusive leadership.

Alan Young

My principal place of residence is not in the Levin Ward area.

My name is Alan Young and I am a born and bred local, looking to add my skillset towards a united council that will bring pride and progress to the district. I am a political science and international relations major from the Victoria University of Wellington having being  elected the students' executive and thus have worked with a level of governance and most importantly the constraints of a budget before. I have been a local business owner for the last six years and through my hundreds of interactions every day I understand the need to put importance on healthcare, clean drinking water and cut out unnecessary rate increases. My goal is to advocate for the Levin Ward and ensure that the voters voice is heard at the council meetings and will push to keep councils goals in line with the constituents.

My principal place of residence is in the Waiopehu Ward area.

I am seeking re-election to represent the Waiopehu ward. It has been a privilege to have been around the council table for the past 8 years. A lot has been achieved and a lot has been learned.

Good governance of our district is something I take seriously, and I look forward to being part of the new council taking our district forward in this very exciting time of growth. This growth is key to a prosperous future for our community and I will do all I can to enable this.

It's time to look forward and embrace the new Horowhenua that will bring opportunities for our communities to thrive. Key infrastructure (water and solid waste), a new look town centre, and roading links are all important parts of this puzzle.

I've proven to be a strong advocate for our district and will continue to challenge areas which need improvement.

Independent - New Direction New Council

My principal place of residence is in the Waiopehu Ward area.

Tena Katoua, Hello, I'm Viv Bold - Waiopehu

I was born in Levin and have lived most of my life here.  Five generations of my family have lived in this area.  I care about our environment and its future.  I have been a Caregiver, Divisional Therapist, Truck Driver, and Businesswoman.  I am a lifestyle farmer, In Historical Soc, Fundraiser for local Darts group, Volunteer at Op Shop, member of the Ratepayers Association, and Chair of the Hokio Progressive Assoc.  Would like us to live; in a caring and affordable society.  We need more jobs, capped rates, increased rate rebate, debt reduction, sensible roading decisions, more public transport, transparency and public inclusiveness, lessen dog fees.  There is a Limit to what our Budgets can afford, what we can cut back on next.  Let's get our area thriving.

Take a chance: Be Bold - Vote for Viv.

Honesty and Integrity

My principal place of residence is in the Waiopehu Ward area.

I'm a person of integrity, I like to meet and bring people together.  I'm involved in various roles, working through opportunities, challenges as they present.

Levin is a great place to live however, we are pricing ourselves out of living here. The ever-increasing rates, that keep our district operational, leaves the ratepayer despondent.

I'm passionate about Horowhenua, we need better cohesion to create stability and teamwork to forge forward thinking. We must work together to support economic growth, encouraging new businesses.  Horowhenua is a desirable location to invest and live in.  We have affordable commercial sites, a good business leaves a good footprint for the next generation to build on.

We hear the word transparency in relation to council spending. I support tight fiscal management to minimise debt. We need to be prudent around spending. Each year there is substantial rate rise, we need to have a fiscally judicious Council.

My principal place of residence is in the Waiopehu Ward area.

I am 56, semi-retired and married to Marion. We have been residents of Horowhenua for 29 years. I started my career in the Dairy Industry and for the last 16 years was Technical Manager for one of Fonterras Global Innovation and Development teams. Marion and I both come from farming families and run a small hay contracting business over summer.

I have a strong interest in the environment (from a science and technology perspective). I was nominated by the New Zealand Packaging Council to represent it on a joint New

Zealand/Australia governmental advisory group on packaging regulations in Canberra, and have supported both New Zealand and Australian Packaging Councils in preparing governmental submissions.

I have had 15 years in educational governance roles six as Chairperson Horowhenua College Board of Trustees.

I am currently Chief of the Horowhenua Scottish Society and recently appointed President of the Pipes and Drums of Horowhenua.

Christine Mitchell

My principal place of residence is in the Waiopehu Ward area.

Born and raised in Levin, I have brought up two sons on the family farm at Ihakara and taught for 25 years at local schools. I have excellent background knowledge of the Horowhenua District.

During the last six years as a Waiopehu Ward Councillor I gained an in-depth understanding of how Council works and built strong networks and relationships which enabled me to work effectively for rural and village people.

The Horowhenua District is experiencing significant growth. Growth is necessary for a more vibrant economy, but must be managed so that the Horowhenua lifestyle, our high-value soils and the natural environment that we enjoy are not compromised.

Listening to varied reasoned viewpoints and careful analysis of evidence are critical when I make decisions on behalf of our District.

With my strong community background and governance experience, I will continue to bring a consultative, focused and balanced view to Council.

It's time for a change

My principal place of residence is in the Waiopehu Ward area.

I seek election to HDC to represent the residents and ratepayers of the Waiopehu Ward. I have lived most of my life in Horowhenua, in Muhunoa East, Levin and Manakau. I ran a photography business for 25 years and have been a registered financial adviser for over 20 years.

My experience will enable me to be an effective representative for the ward, speaking up fearlessly and seeking common sense solutions to problems.

Challenging change is coming to Horowhenua. Population growth means new approaches. New housing and roading must be managed so we preserve the quality of life we now enjoy. It is essential also to maintain balanced land use for a sustainable future.

I will bring a strong independent voice to the council table and beyond. I think of myself as a 'solution thinker' rather than a 'problem seeker'. For example, the rates burden needs to be shared more fairly.

Kia ora, I grew up in Lower Hutt and then lived in Auckland where I completed my Business Degree, including papers of interest, which explored conflict resolution and the crossover between business, society, and ethics. I worked in a business sales role working with Universities, local Iwi, and Agribusinesses across the northern region.

I have worked with New Zealand Young Farmers over the last 5 years. The work I have done has required me to pull together groups of community volunteers, schools and local businesses in order to achieve common goals that create opportunities for our rangatahi and support the continued growth of our local and often rural businesses.

Having moved back to Foxton Beach early this year after time away due to work commitments, I am keen to play an active role in understanding and getting to know the people that make up this community I call home.
