Horowhenua is growing faster than predicted and this is expected to continue for the next 20 years. Council is working hard to strategically create opportunities to transform the district and enable development that is going to positively contribute to the district. The anticipated yearly number of houses to be built is set to double to accommodate new residents - to support this growth, our Consents team is expanding. We now have space for delivery-focused Resource Management Planners to join our team and play a key role in helping our district go from good to great.

We're offering an opportunity for experienced Resource Management Planners to join our whānau, showcase their skills and help drive the coordinated delivery of Council's business units program of work that will untimely help influence the shape of our district.

He kōrero mōu - About you

In a typical day, you as a Resource Management Planner you will process consents and other planning applications, adhering to the framework and provisions of the Resource Management Act. You'll be required to drive solutions but also navigate the challenges that might be encountered while working through the consents process. You'll join a fast-paced, well-rounded sociable team who take great pride in the delivery of their mahi.

You'll play an integral part in supporting this community and its people, your skills and experience will enhance the output of the Consents team, offering a high level of expert advice across our customer focused groups. Always leading by example, looking for opportunities to mentor and positively influence other to do great work. A problem solver by nature, your excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills will be key to your success.
