Proposed Plan Changes 1 and 2.

Further submissions on Proposed Plan Changes 1 and 2 closed on Monday, 19 February 2018.

Plan Change 1 proposes to extend the historic heritage buildings, structures and sites that are listed on Schedule 2 of the Horowhenua District Plan and Plan Change 2 proposes to amend a limited number of provisions specifically relating to residential development.

Council received seven submissions on Plan Change 1 and 19 submissions on Plan Change 2 during the first round of public consultation held in November and early December last year.

What is a plan change?

A plan change is when Council proposes to make changes to the provisions or zones in its District Plan. The District Plan is the document which outlines what people can do with their land in the district and what activities require Council approval.

Council is required to follow a formal process to undertake a plan change and this involves seeking submissions on the plan changes (which occurred last year) and further submissions.
