Road Works - Wharf Street & Harbour Street Intersection, Foxton Road works were carried out at the intersection of Wharf Street & Harbour Street in Foxton, work carried out improved pedestrian and traffic safety.
Wastewater Network Maintenance – Smoke Testing Horowhenua Alliance carried out smoke testing of Levin’s sewer system from Mid July until the end of December 2019. Smoke testing involves smoke being pumped into Council’s sewers. Crews then monitor where smoke escapes the sewer system.
LED Street Lighting Upgrade Council's 70 Watt LED Street Lighting Upgrade is complete for all areas from Manakau through to Foxton and Tokomaru. Work will begin in late August on the higher wattage fitting upgrade (100 to 250 Watt luminaires). It is expected that street lighting in the Horowhenua District will be fully LED by the mid-January 2019.
Road Works - Foxton Shannon Road & Himatangi Block Road Road works carried out from the intersection of Foxton Shannon Road and Himatangi Block Road and just before the floodgates, was completed in late 2019. Work carried out to improve the quality of the road and reduce maintenance costs.
Footpath Works - Foxton Beach Road and Palmer Road Footpath works carried out at the intersection of Palmer Road and Foxton Beach Road during Spring 2019, to improve the quality of the footpath and address traffic safety hazards. The project started in early September 2019 and was completed in November 2019.
Levin Wastewater Discharge The Pot receives all of Levin’s treated discharged wastewater as irrigation. Half the property is leased from Muaūpoko Land Trust and the other half owned by Council.
Tokomaru Water Supply Obtain a resource consent to continue to abstract water from Tokomaru River for the Tokomaru water supply.
