This centrally located domain offers a range of sporting and recreation opportunities including tennis courts, playground and a skating half-pipe. There is space to play sport and the area also has a community hall, public BBQ and toilets.
During the summer months Waitārere Domain is a popular spot for picnics due to its sheltered location and proximity to shops and the beach. Easter sees the local community hold their very popular annual fair.
The public hall on the domain is run by the Waitārere Scouts.
Community consultation on the Waitārere Beach Domain Development Plan took place over 2019-2020.
Through this consultation and discussions with the Waitārere Progressive Association, it was identified that the skate ramps are a key part of the domain but are in need of replacement. We are looking to replace the skate ramps by Christmas 2020 through the Long Term Plan 2018-2038 process.
