The International Representation Grant aims to support Horowhenua residents who have been selected to represent New Zealand at an international competition in sport, leisure or cultural activities.
Applications may be made on an ongoing basis throughout the year (1 July to 30 June) but must be applied for at least one month prior to the event taking place.

The Horowhenua Events Grant was created to address the growing need to support grass-roots community activities.
Applications may be made on an ongoing basis throughout the year (1 July to 30 June) but must be applied for at least one month prior to the event taking place (no retrospective funding). In addition, as there is a very limited funding pool available for this grant ($5,000 in total), once all the funds for a financial year have been awarded to the community, there will be no more awarded until the beginning of a new financial period.

As an initiative of Council’s Pride and Vibrancy Action Plan, the Vibrant Communities Grant was introduced in 2015 to support projects that build a sense of vibrancy in the Horowhenua District.
Each financial year the Grants and Funding Subcommittee of Council determines the strategic priorities of the fund and how it will be administered at its first meeting of the year (August). The inaugural fund (2016/2017) supported the painting of the fences at Solway Park.
For 2018/2019 the Grants Subcommittee announced that the fund be directed towards Interactive and intergenerational projects.
For more information and to apply, visit our Vibrant Communities Grant page. Applications close at 5:00pm on 28 February 2019.
