The hearing has so far been held over four days 14-17 November 2011.

The Council has appointed Dean Chrystal and Julia Williams as independent commissioners with full authority to hear and determine the plan change.

Plan Change Description
Proposed Plan Change 22 seeks to identify and protect the Outstanding Natural Features, Outstanding Natural Landscapes and High Amenity Landscapes within the Horowhenua District. Through new policies and rules, the proposed Plan Change would place restrictions on how land within the identified areas can be used and developed. It involves changes to the Outstanding Landscapes currently identified in the Horowhenua District Plan.

Submissions
Submissions on Plan Change 22 closed on 6 November 2009, with 117 submissions received. The Summary of Submissions report was notified 26 February 2010 and contains a summary of all the decisions requested by submitters.
